HOW’S this for dedication to the art of rock?

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’s guitarist NILS LOFGREN is having both his hips replaced so he can carry on thrashing away well into his old age.

The 57-year-old axe maestro has been rocking solidly for the past 40 years and it has taken a terrible toll on his joints.

Nils started out backing NEIL YOUNG before graduating to fretboard duties with Bruce’s E STREET BAND.

Nils’ dodgy hips could be down to his habit in his younger days of somersaulting across stage with the aid of a trampoline while still strumming away.

He said: “I have destroyed both of my hips. They are bone on bone with no cartilage. Thus, I am headed to New York to have a bilateral hip replacement.”
