Go-slow Loeb reigns in Spain

SEBASTIEN LOEB won the Rally of Spain for the fourth year running to take a 12-point lead at the top of the standings.

France’s world champion moved on to 96 points, with Finland’s Mikko Hirvonen on 84 after a third-placed finish in Salou.

Citroen star Loeb said: “It’s been a very good rally for me. I had to work to build the time early on but today I was able to slow it down.”

Britain’s ALLAN McNISH followed up his Le Man 24hr win with victory in the Petit Le Mans.

The Audi star’s team beat their Peugeot rivals by just 4.5sec in the 1,000-mile race in Atlanta.
