Langley gets England break

JAMIE LANGLEY has been called up by England - a year after fleeing the country to avoid watching the national team!

The Bradford Bulls loose forward missed out on last year's Test series against New Zealand because of a wrist injury.

Langley, 24, was so gutted that he went away on holiday because he couldn't bear to watch the games.

The forward, who made his Great Britain debut against France in the summer of 2007, was also overlooked for this year's French Test.

But England coach Tony Smith yesterday included him among six players he named for his World Cup train-on squad.

The others include Langley's Bulls team-mate Paul Sykes, whose last international appearance was also against France 15 months ago.

Bulls half back Paul Deacon is also included, as exclusively revealed in The Sun yesterday.

The other players are Warrington trio Martin Gleeson, Adrian Morley and Ben Westwood.

Bradford's Andy Lynch and Terry Newton were selected by Smith, but have pulled out because of shoulder injuries.

Smith will name his final 24 man squad for the World Cup early next month.
